A system can never be too safe. Glatt’s process systems are designed for the production of solid dosage forms and must therefore safely process powders, tablets, pellets, as well as water-based or organic solvents. To ensure this, safety technology is an integral part of our concept and design.
We generally adhere to European guidelines, which are globally accepted. However, we can also meet various country-specific requirements as needed. To this end, we maintain constant contact with relevant authorities as well as health and safety institutions to ensure that we meet the applicable requirements. For example, our Glatt fluidized bed or high-speed mixers are available in pressure-shock-resistant designs to withstand explosions of dust and/or hybrid mixtures. To achieve this, we use special high-strength stainless steels that offer up to a 50% saving in weight compared to conventional stainless steel. When solvents are used in tablet coaters, they are operated below the explosion limit. Upon special request, Glatt process systems can also be supplied in a closed-loop system with N₂. To protect personnel and the environment, our safety experts are always available to advise our customers, whether for a new system or an existing installation that needs to be brought up to the latest safety standards.
